2011 Best of the Bay Wine Competition & Zin Challenge

Top awards for the competition went to the following wines:
Best of Bay White Wine
Fenestra Winery 2010 Verdelho, Silvaspoons Vineyard, Lodi
Best of Bay Red Wine
Fenestra Winery 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Ghielmetti Vineyard, Livermore
Best of Zin Challenge
Shenandoah Vineyards, 2008 Zinfandel, Paul's Vineyard, Amador County

A total of 11 Gold medals were awarded to wineries who entered the Best of the Bay Wine Competition, which is open to all commercially bonded wineries located in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Solano counties.
The Zin Challenge attracted 75 entries from 42 wineries. Judges awarded 13 Gold medals in the Zin Challenge, which is open to all commercially bonded wineries within the United State producing red Zinfandel.
